Relaxation v. Therapeutic Hypnosis

Like most things, there are different types of hypnosis.

There’s relaxation hypnosis, which is a lot like meditation, where you focus on relaxing.

You might feel a wave of relaxation going through your body, you might be told to visualize a path or go down stairs. You might enter a secret garden or not, if you’re not able to visualize.

Relaxation hypnosis might not work for everybody. Especially if you have a very critical mind.

You may resist being told to go down a path.

You may not be able to visualize a path.

You might actually put the brakes on because your conscious mind is saying wondering what the H is going on here.

You conscious mind may feel threatened, may sense a loss of control and put on the brakes on.

If are able to relax, the suggestions are given by the practitioner. The suggestions that you get on pre-recorded relaxations hypnosis sessions are generic suggestions.

Suggestions that are prepared before a session are for the most part the same, generic. More on that in a bit.

The effects of relaxation hypnosis may also be temporary. You may feel relaxed momentarily but the stress, the in ability to sleep, etc. may come back.

Therapeutic Hypnosis

With Accelerated Hypnosis, we acknowledge the critical mind. We listen to it and let it express its conclusions about the issue you’re having.

Once the conscious mind has exhausted all its ideas, we can access fresh ideas, unconstrained by the conscious mind.

We can access all the solutions, all the answers and all the resources that are waiting in the subconscious mind.

In therapeutic hypnosis, the suggestions come from the subconscious mind, the mind that knows what’s really going on and how to resolve what is at the root of the issue.

With Accelerated Hypnosis, suggestions are never prepared before the session. How could I know what the root cause of your issues are before the session?

The suggestions need to come as a result of your connection with your subconscious mind, that level of mind that knows exactly what’s going on below the surface.

If you think of you think of your problems like dandelions on your lawn. You pick the dandelions but they pop up in other areas because there’s an extensive network of roots hidden beneath the surface.

To get rid of the dandelions, you need to get rid of the roots once and for all.

Accelerated Hypnosis is like going for a root canal at the dentist. You want to treat the root canal in one sitting. You don’t want to keep going back for 6 – 8 weeks to treat a little at a time.

The treatment plan needs to be customized for you. You don’t want a dentist to do a generic treatment plan for a root canal.

There is often experiential learning in a hypnosis session that brings about a mindset change. Neuroplasticity has taken place in the learning experience and new neural pathways have been created so you feel differently about the problem.

At the end of an Accelerated Hypnosis session, we test to ensure the problem is not a problem anymore. The problem will not occur in the same way because of the new resources that are now available to handle the problem.

The root cause of your problem has been identified by the subconscious mind and has been treated specifically and personally.

So don’t stop doing relaxation hypnosis if it’s helping you relax in the moment.

But if you’re looking for a real change, just add hypnosis…

Therapeutic, Accelerated Hypnosis.
