Have you ever thought of a goal or a dream and then immediately thought, “I could never do that” or there’s a voice that comes out of nowhere and says, “You can’t have that.”
This is the Critical Mind that is always judging, evaluating, calling bullsh!t on everything. It calls B.S. on your dreams to keep you from your desired reality.
It causes the inner conflict between of what it is that you want to do and want to be
You’re feeling a bit dissatisfied with where you are and so you start to think about how you would like things to be different. You might even think of a goal or a future, desired destination ofwhere you want to end up.
You feel that excitement, thinking how it would be if you moved from your current state to that future state…
Then there’s that voice, the critical mind….
It starts to squash all of those dreams and those goals. It’s like having a frenemy who’s got your back but is kinda negative and critical and somehow convinces you that you can’t have that; you can’t be; that’s for other people, not for you…
Your critical mind is responsible for the distance between you and your desired destination.
Listen closely for this voice.
Its job is to keep you playing small – to do whatever it needs to do to keep you exactly where you are are – to create the fear of taking even one step outside your comfort zone.
It’s trying to keep you safe. It’s been programmed over centuries to keep you in the familiar. You might be barely surviving but hey, you’re still alive. Right?
Barely.
Well, it’s all good. This part of the mind is not interested in thriving.
At all.
Because that would mean change. It would mean stepping outside your comfort zone. The safety zone where survival is a certainty.
But there’s a part of you that is ready for change, ready for something different, something better and the uncertainty that come with it.
There are people who are considering hypnosis. They want to try it but they’re not sure if it will work for them.
How you do anything is how you everything
Let’s take a look at that process…
You’re interested in something…
You want it but you’re not sure that’ll happen… This is the uncertainty that the critical mind wants to use to force you back into your comfort zone.
This happens when people think of hypnosis or a new career or a relationship that really works. Whatever that desired future is out there…
The job of the critical mind is to keep you stuck wherever you are because if it can keep you where you are it knows that you’re safe. It knows how to handle what you already have and the dissatisfaction that comes with it.
Stepping outside of that, anything outside of that is dangerous to the critical mind.
It would rather keep you in certainty than for you to step out into the uncertainty that comes from taking a step towards your desired destination.
You need to get past that critical mind.
Hypnosis is all about getting past the critical mind.
Getting the critical mind out of the way so you can step out in the direction of your dream and goals.
In Accelerated hypnosis, we move past the critical mind so that you can access a deep resourceful state of trance and access all the possibilities and all the resources that can get you there.
When that critical mind isn’t there putting on the brakes, you can reprogram your subconscious GPS with a destination that you truly desire.
Once that future state is set in your subconscious GPS, you will move towards that destination.
So here’s the first step…
Notice how you Critical Mind stops you from moving outside your safety zone…
What does it say to you?
It also works with your feelings..
What is the feeling that comes up sometimes even thinking about stepping outside your comfort zone, and going for what it is that you really want.
In what area(s) does your critical mind keep you in what’s familiar even though it’s not working for you anymore?
