Some Problems Are Like a Rubik’s Cube

Why are some problems easy to solve and others seem to persist?

The persistent problems seem to go underground and get more complex.

There are problems that you can solve with your conscious mind. They’re the kind of problems you can create some type of list or steps to logically solve.

Persistent problems are like a rubik’s cube, complex, multifaceted and really take something (more than a bulleted list) to resolve. In addition, there’s usually an emotional element to these types of problems.

One of the clues that a problem has gone subconscious is that it feels tangled up and is expanding into different areas of your life…

There are different emotions involved, and the problem expands as different connections get tangled up in it.

As the problem expands, neural pathways in your brain that correspond to the problem become deeper, wider, and a little more rigid. Literally.

Instead of having a wide open a map with many routes and alternative ways of thinking, a definite pathway gets dug into your way of thinking and get carved in deeper the more you think about it.

This is how you get stuck.

this problem is becoming more complex, getting wrapped up emotionally and it’s very hard to solve this problem with your conscious mind as it gains momentum like a snowball.

If your problem has persisted for weeks, months (hopefully not years), and it’s taking away from your happiness and satisfaction in life, you’re probably very motivated to solve the problem.

If this problem could have been resolved at the level of your conscious mind, you probably would have solved it by now.

Its persistence and emotional content is a clue that your problem needs to be solved at the level of your subconscious mind.

But no worries….

Your subconscious mind already knows how to resolve this problem.

If there’s a goal or a desired future state that you want to get to – your subconscious mind already knows the critical path that you should take to get there.

It has all the resources, the vehicle, a gas car, all the great roadtrip snacks that you need on that journey…

To get there with velocity .

It didn’t get the memo.

In the same way that you wound up wherever you are right now, you’re being driven towards your desired destination

Your subconscious mind is in the driver’s seat, like it’s always been. Whever was programmed in your subconscious mind is exactly where you’re heading and will eventually end up.

Your subconscious mind is in the driver’s seat and whatever

Your conscious mind may have an old school paper map or map book (remember those?!) but it is in the passenger’s seat.

You need to update the destination that is programmed into your subconscious GPS.

This is the roadtrip that got you to exactly where you are today.

Grab your map and take a look at the distance between your current state and desired state. Your subconscious mind is responsible for creating the distance between the two states.

Get intentional and program your subconscious mind with the destination of your choosing.

Everything you need to get there is waiting for you right now, in your subconscious mind.

It may be time to change states.
