Informational v. Experiential Confidence

There is the type of learning experience that you get from books.

The quality of experience that you get from reading a manual or watching an instructional video about, let’s say, how to ride a bike.

After watching 100 hours of videos or reading several books about riding a bike, could you get on a bike and ride it?

Would getting more of the same type of information make it possible to understand and really get balance, pedalling and steering?

The information and learning is flat, just like the pages in the book.

There is another type of learning, that includes the kind of Information that you get from hypnosis. It’s like actually getting on a bike, really learning what balance is and being able to ride it.

This is experiential learning.

I have taken a bazillion courses because I love learning but the most amazing, life changing course I took focused on experiential learning. The outcomes had to do with being not learning information.

Accelerated Learning

Hypnosis is like that scene from the Matrix where Neo gets a download and learns Kung Fu.

A client came in for hypnosis because she felt like she lacked confidence.

She had a deep, resourceful experience and somehow actually learned how to be confident in her session.

When my client went back to life, she had a new set of choices around being confidence, where before she had a fixed, constrained way of being.

She could now choose to be confident and showed up differently at work and with her partner.

It was like she got a download from the resources available in subconscious mind, they were already there just waiting for her.

It’s freaking fascinating to observe.

There are some things you can’t learn by just getting more information.

Some ways of learning are meant to be broken…

So put down that book and show me.

What are you waiting for?
