When Pain Isn’t a Problem Anymore

I have been in both intense physical and emotional pain.

Recently I had an operation with a local anesthetic.

I was prescribed antibiotics and pain killers but the pharmacy couldn’t give me the pain killers without some sort of additional consent from my surgeon – even though he had just prescribed them that same day.

I used hypnosis to manage the pain because I didn’t want it to get out of hand. I did some self hypnosis and got some guidance from my subconscious how to deal with the pain.

Self-hypnosis is not as effective as hypnosis because hypnosis is all about getting the critical conscious mind out of the way. It’s challenging for one person to be both the one giving and receiving in the same hypnosis session.

So I recorded a pain session so I could just relax and let my subconscious mind do what it needed to do to manage the pain and listened whenever I felt the pain starting.

As for emotion pain, I used to use mindfulness to process it.

Meditation is about mindfulness and bringing your focus back to whatever it is that you’re trying to focus on. When you’re sitting with difficult emotions, it’s really challenging to stay focused.

Hypnosis is about focus but the quality of focus is on a whole ‘notha level.

In hypnosis, you don’t lose focus and have to keep coming back to it like in meditation. You can stay in a wave of focus for long periods of time when you have the help of your subconscious mind.

And while you’re there in that deep resourceful state, your subconscious mind can solving problems for you, both physical and emotional problems.

It can show you new routes to all your desired destinations, and gives you all the resources you need to get you there.

So my clients come out of trance with new resources that give them new choices.

And the problem they came in with isn’t a problem anymore…

Even if that problem is chronic pain.

Here’s the pain session I recorded on YouTube and Spotify
