How Our Bodies Hold Trauma—and the Keys to Healing

How Our Bodies Hold Trauma—and How Hypnotherapy Unlocks the Key to Healing

When something painful happens—like a breakup, a betrayal, or a traumatic event—your body doesn’t just get over it. You get stuck.

You might feel hopeless, anxious, and triggered AF. It’s not you, it’s the trauma. It’s your nervous system trying to deal with the overwhelming experience.

This is why you might overreact to things that seem small or insignificant others. A certain sound or tone of voice can set you off. These triggers are reminders of danger, and your body reacts before your brain even catches up. You’re in survival mode.

Trauma Get Stuck in the Body

Even if you try forget what happened, your body remembers and you have random, intrusive thoughts that sometimes lead to rumination and get stuck in thought loops.

These thoughts can pop up out of nowhere, making it hard to focus or get things done. You’re trying to find your motivation, determination, and your sense of self, but you seem to have lost them to the trauma.

You might find yourself replaying conversations or moments, questioning what you could have done differently. or wishing they would have never happened. Over time, this cycle can leave you feeling exhausted and disconnected from yourself and others.

You Can’t Think Your Way Out of Trauma

Traditional talk therapy can help, but it’s not always enough because of the emotional element that underlies trauma. However, with trauma, talking can make things worse—especially when you’re forced to relive the pain without a way to calm your body down. This is called an iatrogenic effect, where what you’re doing to try to help the trauma is unintentionally making it worse.

Logic can’t fix your emotions.

This is why true healing has to include the body and the emotions—not just the mind trying to understand.

Hypnotherapy Helps the Body Feel Safe Again

Hypnotherapy works with your subconscious, where trauma is stored. In a session, your body is guided a focused state. It does not have to be calm or relaxed because if you could access calm and relaxed, you probably wouldn’t need therapy.

Focus helps us connect with your Superconscious, which is a part of you that knows exactly what you need to release the past. We can rewire your nervous system to let go of these patterns and create new empowering one. We create a space for your body to feel safe, grounded, and calm again, without requiring you to talk about any painful, personal details about the past.

Your Body Holds the Key to Healing

The same body that holds your trauma also holds all the resources, all the answers to healing. Where else would healing come from but within?

But it’s not accessed by talking about the past. Who ever said remembering is recovering?

No one.

Only you can find your calm, and connect with your innate ability to recover. We can help you connect with your Superconscious when you’ve lost your way and need a little help.

Accelerated Hypnotherapy helps you access that place of inner calm and safety. It’s not about forgetting what happened. It’s about helping your brain and body become present to the here and now, where the past is in the past, where it belongs.

You’re not broken, you’re just stuck. Hypnotherapy can help your body connect with its ability to heal from within, without ever having to say a word.

Let’s connect.

Small changes in the subconscious lead to significant shifts at the conscious level.
