The Difference Between Scripted Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy
If you’ve tried it before and it didn’t work, like me or if you’re wondering what the difference is.
Not all hypnosis is the same.
If you’ve ever listened to a free hypnosis recording online or seen someone use a basic relaxation script, you’ve experienced a form of scripted hypnosis. While this can be helpful for general relaxation or sleep, it’s very different from working with a certified hypnotherapist who customizes each session to your specific needs.
Let’s break down the difference.
Scripted Hypnosis Is Generic
Scripted hypnosis uses pre-written scripts. These might sound like:
- “Your eyes are getting heavy…”
- “You are walking on a peaceful beach…”
- “With every breath, you feel more relaxed…”
These kinds of recordings or scripts can calm your body and mind in the moment. They may be helpful to give you a bit of relief from stress but they don’t go deep enough to shift emotional patterns, trauma, or subconscious blocks.
Why? Because they aren’t designed with you in mind.
Accelerated Hypnotherapy Is Personalized
A hypnotherapist doesn’t rely on a one-size-fits-all script. Instead, they:
- Ask about your history, triggers, and goals
- Connect you with the wisdom of your Superconscious mind
- Work with your own unique metaphors and imagery that is meaningful to you
- Guide you as you both follow the lead of your superconscious mind toward healing and transformation
This means the session is tailored to you, we don’t guess at what the root cause of deep-seated issues, which means deeper issues—like fear, self-doubt, grief, or trauma—can be addressed safely and effectively.
Scripted Hypnosis Can’t Get to the Root
You might feel relaxed during a guided hypnosis that uses, but lasting change usually needs more than that. If you’ve experienced trauma, you might not even feel safe enough to relax.
Hypnotherapy does not require you to relax because if you could relax, you probably wouldn’t need it in the first place. Instead we
If your issue comes from a deeper emotional wound, subconscious belief, or past experience, a general script won’t know how to find the root cause or cause enough of a shift to create a transformation.
Hypnotherapy helps you get to the root, gently uncovering what’s really going on and helping your mind and body release it.
Hypnotherapy Builds a Relationship
Working with a hypnotherapist means you’re not doing it alone. You have someone trained to notice subconscious patterns, help you connect with your Superconscious, and guide your process of healing and transformation.
Small changes in the subconscious lead to significant shifts at the conscious level.
