Why Your Conscious Mind Can’t Fix Trauma
After doing thousands of hypnotherapy sessions, there’s a consistent message that I get from the Superconscious, and that is it doesn’t need your help.
It doesn’t need the help of the conscious mind to resolve whatever’s happened.
In fact, when you try to change or fix what’s actually happening in the present moment.
We all know that we can’t go back and change the past, but we often try with our conscious mind to change or fix what’s happening in the moment rather than just being with it.
I know that it makes sense to do this, and we all do this. It’s actually a form of resistance.
Trying to change or fix what is, actually a form of resistance that keeps things stuck because what you resist persists.
The Neuroscience of Resistance and Brain Overwhelm
Resistance to what is so, what’s actually going down in the present moment, actually keeps things in place.
From a neuroscience perspective, it’s the same principle that trying to bring a complex problem up into your conscious awareness, up into your conscious mind, keeps your brain in overwhelm. It keeps the betrayal stuck in the present moment.
The Hidden Dangers of Traditional Talk Therapy for Trauma
But we do it because that’s all we know. That’s the traditional model of talk therapy, which says that it’s trauma-informed. But it’s often causing you iatrogenic harm, which means unintentional harm of talking about trauma that causes it to be revivified, and it causes you to actually experience that trauma again as if it’s happening in the present moment.
The process of talking about things, of digging up a painful past and thinking about it and trying to get more information about it and more insight causes you to re-experience what happened in a real way.
It perpetuates the feelings, the flashbacks, the intrusive thoughts that lead to rumination, those bad feelings in your body.
It causes you to be triggered AF, and it puts your brain into overwhelm.
And when your brain is on fire, it cannot process the emotional overwhelm, that hyperactivity in the emotional part of the brain.
It actually prevents your brain from being able to process the trauma and integrate all the pieces that are floating around, like the random flashbacks, the thoughts, the rumination, the overwhelming feelings that you feel in your body , that can lead to panic.
Why Accelerated Hypnotherapy Works Without Digging Up the Past
We don’t need to dig up the past. We don’t need to talk about the past. Like I would even be able to figure it out anyway because if you haven’t been able to figure it out with your conscious mind, no one else is gonna be able to figure it out with theirs.
You’ve probably been trying to figure it out with your conscious mind for a while now, and if you could’ve figured it out at that level, you probably would have already.
You Don’t Have to Remember to Recover
But here’s the thing.
You don’t have to remember to recover.
All that you’re doing when you’re bringing up all those painful memories is keeping your brain into a stuck state of overwhelm.
Your brain doesn’t need any help. It doesn’t need the help of the conscious mind trying to fix and change things.
In my sessions, as soon as a client let’s go of trying to change or fix, it opens up a space for them to actually be present and experiencing whatever they’re experiencing in the present moment.
This is the access to the subconscious.
This is the pathway.
This is your access to creating new neural pathways.
How to Rewire Your Brain and Release Emotional Trauma
Trying to fix and control the present moment causes resistance and is what’s keeping it stuck because trying to avoid what you’re feeling in the actual moment is like running away from it.
Whatever you’re running from is running you.
And as soon as we let go, the Superconscious can show us the way to true healing.
So we’re just gonna keep the past in the past, and we’re gonna get out of the way with our conscious mind and create the right conditions for the brain to integrate all those fragments, put together all those pieces of the puzzle so that you can actually feel peace and hope and calm.
And rediscover your authentic self.
Using the Superconscious Mind’s Natural Healing Pathways
When we let go of the resistance, the brain can do what it already knows when it’s not being overwhelmed because you’re talking and thinking about what’s happened.
We don’t have to dig up the past because it’s all down there in your Superconscious mind anyway.
There’s a reason why we dissociate, because it’s a very good strategy to deal with things that are traumatic by leaving them down in the subconscious.
So let’s use that dissociation, not bring it up and recall all the shitty things that you’ve experienced because everything is down in the subconscious already all ready.
All the things that you remember, and even the things that you don’t even remember, are already there, and your Superconscious knows how to use them to create new pathways to healing.
I never know what’s gonna happen in our sessions because I’m just gonna work with whatever is happening in the present moment. Whatever comes up in the present moment is your access to a whole new realm of possibilities.
Whatever is, is your access to creating new possibilities.
Like in a whole different realm of newness that has nothing to do with your past.
We will literally create new neuraal pathways in a totally different area of your brain.
If you’re ready to work with your brain instead of against it.
You’re one session away.
Let’s connect.
Let’s connect.
Listen, are you breathing just a little and calling it a life?
